Below is a picture of the wall erected for
the foundation of the new Home Depot Center at Apple Valley
and Bear Valley Roads. Imagine you owned the home in
the background!
This never
should have happened!
The primary goal of our General Plan and Development Code is
to prevent potential conflicts between existing residences
and new development. This is why we must separate the
Planning and Economic Development Departments. We need Town
Council members who know and understand planning and
development.
We need Council members who will be more involved than just
showing up for the groundbreaking ceremony.
Update
In 2007 the Town Council authorized the
formation of a General Plan Advisory Committee. I was
honored to be one of the eleven people appointed by the Town
Council to be a member of this committee. The committee was
made up of community members and assigned the task of
considering the necessary changes to the General Plan. The
Town Council will consider the proposed changes to the
General Plan after the November 4th election. I
would very much like to be on the Town Council to see that
the proposed changes and updates are implemented in a
balanced and ethical manner. I promote quality
development in our community.
